Weta Motel
Check out the weta motel hanging in the Wilderness area at the back of the school nursery. It's up high at this stage so that it can settle without being disturbed.
The Kiwi Conservation Club has a really good information poage on wetas- including some interesting facts!
Check the website link in the column at the side of the page.

What does being an Enviroschool mean to us?
We are all working together to become a more sustainable school.
We have created a wonderful school nursery from our old swimming pool. This is a place where we propogate plants for our school gardens and for our community.
We are trying to reduce our school waste by recycling, reusing and by having litterless lunches.
We try to use energy wisely and not waste precious resources.
We are always learning about how we can act in ways that care and protect the world around us.
We care for our environment and try to make our school environment a beautiful, healthy and special place.
We all have special enviro responsibilities and act as kaitiakitanga for our school environment.
We beleive that this planet is a wonderful place and we want to protect it for the future.
We are trying to take the enviro friendly practices we follow at school into our homes.
