Out of the box thinkers...?

In the Senior School we pride ourselves on our clever students who are creative and thoughtful. Alex and Monty demonstrate some of this 'Thinking outside (or inside) the box'!

Enviro Action Day Around MSS

On Friday the Enviro Kids from each class took the camera to their room to snap some pics of their classmates involved in the various Enviro Action Day activities. Here they are...

The Enviro Kids come up with a solution to stop pollution

Unfortunately it was a very wet Enviro Action Day! Bother! We had to come up with an alternative to our activity. We couldn't spray our fish template on our school drains as it was too wet. We decided to practice spraying with the paint and template by doing one into our books.
We learnt:
*Don't over spray or it smudges and drips
*Spray at a medium distance, not too close or too far away
*Don't spray it too thickly
*Don't get it on you, it's permanent
*Keep it contained to the area you're trying to cover
*Don't be silly with a spray can

Why do we need water?

The Enviro Kids watched an enviro clip about why we need water. This is why...
Gracie-Everything alive needs water to survive
Monty-Everything is made with or contains water
Ella-Without water plants die
Thornton-Our body is 66% water
Alex-Water is vital!
Caitlin-ONLY 1% of our water is fresh, some of this is polluted.
Charlotte-Our world is made up of 97% salt water
Ella- 2% of the world's water is frozen
Cate-If there was no water there would be NOTHING on the planet!
Hamish-Polluted water won't grow things and we can't drink it
Kaea-If our tap water was salt water we would eventually die
