Big EnviroKids go DUMPSTER DIVING!?

Today we went out for an inspection of our school rubbish bins. We were expecting less food scraps and recyclables than we saw! We are sad that our enviroschool message is not getting through to everyone.

However the wonderful envirokids have a plan. We will get back to you soon with our solution!
Keep an eye on this space!

Litterless Lunch Tokens

We had a problem!
No Litterless Lunch tokens!
:(

Solution....?

We had to make some more!

Problem solved, way to go Envirokids!

Big Outside Bin Inspection!

The Envirokids were checking all the outside bins to see if we have been using our bins correctly. We were very disappointed!

We found food scraps, paper and plastic that should have been recycled or put in the food scrap bins. Also teaspoons! And lots of other things that had not been put in the correct place.
As the Envirokids for your room, please remember it is part of your role to support and help your peers get it right! Check your bins daily and sort it out.

We're watching you! Make sure you get it right!

Enviro Kids Explore the Water Cycle

We co-created an amazing Water Cycle collage during our Enviro Kids session today. We worked so well together and were really focused. We didn't quite get finished, we had a fire drill!
We learnt about stages of the cycle such as condensation, evaporation and precipitation.

Zero Waste

The Senior Team are very lucky to be involved in a 'Water Sustainability' unit through Zero Waste at the moment. It is really interesting and we are all learning so much about water  quality and use.
Mrs Palmer is loving all the information, resources and activities she is able to then pass on to her Enviro Kids!

Georgia's Winning Hat!

Congratulations to our Green Team member Georgia who came second in the Yr 1&2 recyclable hat design competition at the Feilding Garden Festival on Sunday.

Carrots

We have planted carrots in the veggie garden. We grew them from seeds. Now we need to look after them during the cold seasons. If there is going to be a frost we will cover them.

Making Pumpkin Soup

A group of Green Teamers made pumpkin soup with Mrs Duker today. We were practising for making and selling it next week. By making money we are helping to make our enviro activities more sustainable.

Fresh and Fruity Feijoas

We harvested some Feijoas today. We took the Feijoas from the ground because they're the ripe ones.
